Mothers’ exercise during pregnancy is associated with reduced risk of obesity in children later on

Women who exercise during exercise are associated with promoting metabolic health at their later births, which helps to avoid obesity , researchers report . “The results of our study suggest that a lack of exercise during pregnancy may predispose babies to obesity later,” says lead author John Seok-Son of the University of Washington.

The researchers studied mice, whose mothers had completed one hour of low-intensity exercise a day compared with mice who did not force their mothers to do the same thing. The researchers found that the children of mothers in the first group had higher levels of protein compared to fat, and gained less weight after 8 years.

Although animal studies may not yield similar results when replicated in humans, researchers have recommended pregnant women to exercise even if they have graceful bodies.
